About the department
Contiweb has his own Development & Engineering department, which employs about 20 colleagues. The work within the department can be devided into five segments; initiating new business, developling new products (new equipment or aftermarket business), sustaining (maintaining the product range/ replacing obsolete components), performance (finding technical solutions to complex problems on machines in the field) and configure-to-order work (developing variations and options on mostly standard products).
What you will do
As a Business Developer, you bring technology and commerce together. You will engage with end customers and/or OEM’s to gain insight into all their needs and requirements. You closely follow trends and developments in the market.
The role of Business Developer is crucial and originates from the dynamics within the market of machine building in the graphic industry. As Business Developer you work on renewing and future-proof markets and the Contiweb portfolio, with a strong focus on business creation.
Using the strategyzer methodology, you identify interesting solutions. Then, as project manager, you are responsible for the ‘innovation sprints’ of selected ideas/ solutions. In eight weeks, a cross-functional team (from various departments) works on an idea or concept. This innovation sprint consists of market research, testing ideas with the customers and finally presenting the business concept to the innovation board, which consists of members of the MT.
Contiweb uses a co-development model for the development of new products. It is therefore crucial that you know how to link technological developments to customer needs. This requires a long-term vision that goes beyond direct sales. You have the skills to realize new developments within existing markets and to introduce existing innovations in new markets.

- A completed WO education, such as Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Technical Business Administration or Electrial Engineering
- Three to five years of experience in the manufacturing industry
- Demonstrated affinity with commerce and project management
- Command of the Dutch and English language in word and writing, German is a pré
- Willingness to travel 20 to 30%
