Roy de Vlam (45) has been working at Contiweb as an Assembler in our assembly for more than 25 years. If anyone knows what it’s like to work at Contiweb, it’s Roy. Time to ask him about his experiences, challenges, and what makes Contiweb so unique.
What does your position at Contiweb entail?
“My job title is Assembler, I deal with all the electrical work in our assembly. My daily work consists mainly of assembling, connecting, adjusting and testing machines. It is a versatile job where no day is the same.”
What makes working at Contiweb challenging?
“Working with these advanced machines full of technology is what makes it challenging. There’s a lot of variety in my work, from cabling and assembling to installing software, adjusting settings, and conducting test runs. This variety keeps the job interesting.”
How do you get the most out of your work?
“I feel responsible for delivering a machine in perfect condition. When everything is right and the customer is satisfied, then I am happy too. Working with new types of machines or techniques also brings innovation and development, which keeps me sharp.”
What do you enjoy most about your job?
“The best part is setting up the machines. Solving malfunctions or problems also gives me a lot of satisfaction. Plus, I enjoy helping my colleagues!”
What should a new colleague definitely know about Contiweb?
“Contiweb is a great company with a nice team. Colleagues are there for each other and help out when needed. The collaboration with other departments is also pleasant. New colleagues are quickly included in the group, creating a great working atmosphere.”
