If you see Wojciech Kwiecinski (33) sitting at his desk, it might look like “just” an engineer in front of a screen. But behind those drawings, simulations, and meetings is someone who is, step by step, building one of the most exciting developments within Contiweb: the new modular dryer.
Wojciech is originally from Poland and has been working at Contiweb for over two years as a Development Engineer. In that time, he grew from a newcomer in the world of industrial dryers into one of the key technical drivers of a project that is helping shape Contiweb’s future.
Before his career at Contiweb, he worked on consumer products, including cooking appliances. Interesting work, but too limited. He wanted influence over the whole: the technical choices, the systems thinking, the puzzle of how all components come together. At Contiweb, he found exactly that: a mid-sized company with global impact, yet so flat in its structure that you can literally walk in on anyone. “Here you feel the impact of your work. You’re not a number, you’re someone who makes a difference.”
Communication as the connecting thread
As a Development Engineer, Wojciech is the connecting link between all disciplines: mechanical, electrical, software, service and sales. He leads projects, tests solutions, conducts research and ensures that what looks good on paper also works in practice. In the field of dryers in particular, he has grown into a subject-matter specialist. While others focus on their own component, he keeps an eye on the bigger picture, from engineering to customer requirements and manufacturability. That broad perspective is now helping him grow into the role of systems architect.
And although he is deeply rooted in engineering, his work revolves at least as much around people. Consulting, aligning, sharpening expectations, making decisions, overseeing tests, translating customer needs, it all comes with the territory. “Much of my work is communication,” he says. “That’s often where the real challenge lies.”
He started small, got to know the machines and the problems, then took on projects of his own, and later became responsible for larger trajectories. Contiweb deliberately encourages development through training in project leadership and systems architecture, but above all by giving people trust. By offering room to try new ways of working, such as stand-up meetings and Agile elements and by taking good ideas seriously.
All of this makes Wojciech feel at home at Contiweb. The short lines of communication. The flat structure. Colleagues who have stayed for years simply because the atmosphere is good. Initiatives like the AI group or Connect Club bring people closer together. And above all: the responsibility you receive the moment you show you can handle it.
More than a job
For Wojciech, working at Contiweb is more than a job. It’s about building something bigger than yourself, a new generation of dryers, a flexible platform for the future, and a company ready for new markets. “You’re not working on a single drawing,” he says. “You’re contributing to the direction of the company.”
And that is precisely what makes Contiweb such a great place for technical professionals who want to grow, think along and make a real impact.
